Congratulations to John XXIII College who was the winner of the combined aggregate and overall girls in the 2020 Virtual ACC Cross Country. Newman College won the boys aggregate and Sacred Heart College was runner up in the combined aggregate. The results for the 2020 Virtual Cross Country will not be recorded as the “historical” result and shields and medallions will not be presented. Results will however be used to select the official All Star Virtual Team for 2020.

The 2020 ACC Cross Country Carnival was cancelled in Term 2 due to COIVID19. The ACC conducted an alternative “Virtual” process across terms 2 and 3 with results taken from school based events, Athletics West/Little Athletics events and club events. The results of these events were processed by BluChip Timing into a Virtual ACC Cross Country Event.

Results from the ACC Virtual Cross Country Carnival are now available on the ACC web site.https://www.accsport.asn.au/carnivals/cross-country/results/2020

ACC XC Score System:

·     The ACC cross country scoring system is based on the place of the runner and lowest score wins i.e. 2nd place scores 2 points. Only the first 2 runners for each school actually score points for the school in each age/gender race. To qualify for the combined aggregate and boys and girls overall shields, a school must have two runners complete each race within the timed cut off. Normally the number of qualifying and point scoring runners is 3, but for the Virtual event this year this was reduced to two runners because of the smaller numbers of participants that were involved.

·     The timed race cut off times for qualification was as per usual: U13 girls time under 20 mins, U13 boys time under 24 mins, U14-U19  19 mins (girls) and 23 mins (boys).

Qualifying Schools:

  • Combined aggregate: 10 schools qualified.
  • Boys Overall: 14 schools qualified.
  • Girls Overall: 13 schools qualified.
  • Participating schools: 30.

Individual results can be accessed on the BlueChip results web pages listed below.

All Star Team

The ACC will select an honorary “Virtual” All Star team of the best five performers in each event. Students selected in the All Star team will receive a certificate of acknowledgment and badge from the ACC. The All Star team will be announced in the coming days.

All results have been processed automatically with BlueChip timing and individual results are available on the Internet, direct to BlueChip links or through ACC app or web site.
