Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ACC held all year 7 AFL carnivals on the one date this year, with the rescheduling of the North Metro carnival. All carnivals were held on Tuesday 23 June at various regional venues. The ACC was happy with how the carnivals ran, and it was great seeing such enthusiastic year 7’s soaking up the sun and playing sport with their school friends after a long break without sport.
The ACC in conjunction with the WAFC offered 9 carnivals for 2020:
- North Metro Carnivals - Boys (Lightning Park, Noranda) & Girls (Coolbinia Reserve)
- South Metro Carnivals - Boys and Girls (3 x Ferndale Reserve & 2 x Burrendah Reserve)
- Grand Final Carnivals - Boys (Hamer Park) & Girls (Inglewood Oval)
The winner of the Eagles Schoolboys Cup (boys) was CBC Fremantle, and the winner of the Freo Docker's Cup (girls) was Aranmore Catholic College.
Well done to all teams who participated. A big thank you to the associated football clubs that assist with the management of the carnivals, the WAFC for providing the trophies and medallions for the winning teams, and to the SEDA groups for their assistance with umpiring at the regional carnivals.
