Young opener Douwtjie Hoogenboezem showed his future potential with a solid defensive technique accompanied with some neat strokes. The ACC batting had many small partnerships that looked likely to turn into match winning momentum but similar to the State Schools innings continued to lose wickets at semi regular intervals. Michael Dawson and Timon Peters coming to the crease at 5 for 74 put together the largest partnership of the ACC innings with a 56 run counter punch stand that had the ACC eyeing off the victory chase. Unfortunately, ACC wickets fell on the final stretch despite some solid late hitting from Andrew Nicholson. It was a fantastic game of cricket and the boys should be extremely proud in the way they represented their school and the ACC.
