Printer-friendly version

Congratulations to Sacred Heart College who were winners of the 2019 ACC Virtual Swimming Championship.  Results from all carnival divisions have been processed using SportsTrak so that the performances of every swimmer at every school could be compared regardless of the carnival division. The “virtual carnival” is a great opportunity for students to gauge their individual performances against the best performers from all other ACC schools.

Sacred Heart won the combined aggregate with 1087 points from John XXIII on 998. CBC Fremantle won the overall boys and Sacred Heart also won the girls overall aggregate from Mandurah Catholic College. Other commendable performances worth noting were CBC Fremantle finishing equal 4th overall, Mandurah Catholic (B div school) finishing 3rd overall.

All results are available at: https://www.accsport.asn.au/system/files/sportstrak/swimming/2019/swimv/page1.htm

The results of the virtual carnival will now be used to select the 2019 All Star Swimming team.

To score points in the virtual carnival, competitors needed to finish in the first 10 places based on their time. There are some variations between carnival divisions that affect points allocations in the virtual meet.

·

I division had 10 schools, so the Virtual meet was scored down to 10 places so that all schools had an opportunity to score in the Virtual meet..

·

100m Freestyle: G-I Div had 2 x UR 100m Freestyle events. These performances were included in the Open (U19) 100m Freestyle events in the Virtual meet. UR 100m freestyle performers will be considered in their own age group for All Star selection.

·

Medley Relays: E-I Div had 2 x UR Medley Relays and A-D Div had 2 x JNR and 2 x SNR Medley Relays. These were all scored as separate events in the Virtual meet. For All Star team selection the UR medleys will be compared to the SNR medley relays in the higher divisions.

·

50m Freestyle: C-I had Div I, II & III 50m Freestyle events. A-B Div had only Div I & II 50m Freestyle. All events were scored as separate events in the Virtual meet. For All Star team selection all 50m Freestyle events will be considered.

The results of the virtual carnival will now be used to select the ACC Honorary All Star Swimming team. The best two performers in each event type per age group will be selected in the all-star team. For relays the top four 50m freestyle swimmers will be selected in the 4 x 50m Freestyle relay and the top four 100m freestyle swimmers will be selected in the 4 x 100m Freestyle relay. The best time in the individual 50m events for freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke will be selected in the 4 x 50m Medley Relay. Schools should check the Virtual Carnival results carefully and report any errors to the ACC ASAP.
