At Ernest Johnson Oval on Friday the 29th of August the ACC won both the Girls’ and the Boys’ competitions in what was the first year that both the girls and boys events were played consecutively on the same day.

ACC won both of their matches in the Girls tri-series event, while the ACC Boys team scored an emphatic 113 point victory over School Sport Western Australia (SSWA).

Ben Cribb, Sporting Schools Coordinator at WA Football, declared the amalgamation of the two competitions a resounding success.

“The day produced a great atmosphere and the players put on a terrific performance with some wonderful talent on display,” Cribb said.

“I’d like to thank both WA AFL clubs for their continued support of the events and our school competitions.”

Both WA AFL clubs were in attendance, with Fremantle supporting the Girls’ event and the Eagles linking up with the Boys. Fremantle AFLW players Aine Tighe and Dana East assisted with the Girls’ presentations, while West Coast Eagles community staff were part of the Boys’ presentations.

Special thanks to the ACC coaching, management and selection staff of both teams; our students have been very lucky to have your time and expertise this year.

The ACC would like to commend the fantastic sportsmanship, camaraderie and conduct of all players on the day; their schools should be proud.  The ACC would also like to thank the ACC schools for their support in releasing the players and coaches for this great event.
