Spirit Service Awards

The Associated & Catholic Colleges of WA (ACC) recognises the contributions of member school staff, employees and appointed officials through the ACC “Spirit” awards. Award recipients will have demonstrated a long standing and significant contribution to the mission of the association and actively embodied the ACC maxim of “Sport in the Right Spirit”.

The ACC “spirit” awards are open to any person that has made a substantial input to ACC sport. The awards are not only open to employees of member schools and the association but also to volunteers and community officials. The “Spirit” Awards will be presented at the annual ACC Awards Presentation Ceremony.

The "Spirit" Awards are conferred on four levels of service:

10 & 20 YEAR SERVICE AWARDS

RECOGNITION AWARD

SAINT SEBASTIAN FELLOWSHIP AWARD

The theme for this year's ACC Service Awards Function was Leadership.  The ACC selected a panel of four guests to be interviewed about this subject.

The MC of the event (Glenn Mitchell) interviewed each guest, focussing on the seven credentials for leadership.  These included:

  1. Clear vision and purpose
  2. Creativity and innovation
  3. Commitment and conviction
  4. Communication and influence
  5. Culture and connection
  6. Collaboration and teamwork
  7. Courage and confidence.

The selected panellists were:

  • Annette Morey (past Principal of St Norbert College and current Principal of Mater Dei College)
  • Ian Elder (past Principal of The King's College, Santa Maria College and Sacred Heart College. Retired.
  • Peter Bothe (past Principal of Trinity College, Catholic Agricultural College, St Luke's College (Karratha) and Sacred Heart College.  Retired.
  • Kyle March (ACC Director of Sport)

The event also involved a farewell element for Kyle March as 2023 was his last year as ACC Director of Sport after 24 years of service.
