Trials
The scheduling of trials is dependent upon the availability of the coaching and management staff, and venues. The final team will be selected from two stages of trials, the net trials and the centre wicket trial.
Players are required to attend one of the net trials detailed below, and must email the Team Manager (andrew.lincoln@bcgs.wa.edu.au) by Monday 17 February to confirm which of the net trials they will be attending.
South Metro Net Trial |
Wednesday 19 February, 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. Murdoch Playing Grounds Wagtail Cl, Murdoch |
North Metro Net Trial |
Wednesday 26 February, 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. MacDonald Park Marmion Ave & Forest Rd, Padbury |
South-West Net Trial |
Wednesday 26 February, 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School 5 Allen Rd, Gelorup |
Following the net trials, coaching and management staff will inform all players by email as to whether they have been selected to progress to the final centre wicket trial. This is a scenario-based trial.
- Note: Players who’ve been selected in the previous year's ACC Representative Cricket team, or who are U17 or U19 state representatives, may be excused from attending the net trials, but must communicate this intent to the Team Manager ahead of the date. Such players will automatically progress to the final centre wicket trial.
- Players in country areas, e.g. Manjimup, may elect not to attend a net trial; however, they must communicate this with the coaching staff and additionally provide a written recommendation from their local club verifying that they are of a representative standard. Players from Bunbury and surrounds are expected to attend the net trial held at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School.
Final Centre Wicket Trial |
Thursday 13 March, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Guildford Grammar School 11 Terrace Rd, Guildford |
Dress and Equipment
Players are asked to wear a school sports top to assist with identification.
Players are required to provide their own personal cricket kits at trials and on the event day. Groin protectors are recommended for batters and wicket keepers in cricket. Gloves, pads, and helmets are required.
Further details will be communicated via email to all nominated players.
Player Nominations
If a student wishes to withdraw their nomination, they must do so before trials to avoid the nomination fee. Sport Coordinators are to check the nominated players from their school, as emailed to them, and report any errors or changes.
The ACC coaching staff reserve the right to add players to the trialling squad at any time and to amend the trial details if circumstances require it.
Please contact the Coaching and Management Staff if you require further information.
