The ACC Championship is the pinnacle of Junior Girls & Boys Y7-9 Basketball within the association. 63 schools participated in the 2021 ACC Junior Basketball Championship.
The ACC Championship basketball was held throughout Term 1 with a range of sub association groups, geographical wildcard pools and one day carnival pools. The One Day Carnival pools took place at Bendat Stadium, Warwick Stadium, Willetton Stadium, Lords Sports Centre, Eaton Rec Centre, South West Sports Centre and Leschenault Leisure Centre on the 2 and 4 March. The ACC Championship basketball elimination bracket then took place during weeks 1-5 of Term 2.
ACC Championship JNR Girls Grand Final Result: Aranmore 67 def All Saints' 62
The 2021 ACC junior girls and boys Basketball Championship grand finals were held Tuesday 25 May at Warwick Stadium in front a great crowd.
The junior girls grand final between Aranmore and All Saints' had a thrilling scoreline with the teams almost inseparable after 40 minutes of fully timed basketball. Both teams had momentum swings throughout the game and the attacking offense of both teams is to be commended. In the end it was Aranmore that held their nerve in the final minute scoring a vital basket and then a steal which led to the foul line. MVP was awarded to Stella Gregory who playing a pivotal role, especially in the deciding last few minutes of the game.
ACC Championship JNR Boys Grand Final Result: Kingsway 85 def Corpus Christi 65
The junior boys grand final had last year's champion school Corpus Christi up against Kingsway Christian. It was a wonderful battle between two high quality squads stacked with elite young talent. The game was free flowing with Kingsway particularly impressive in their ball movement and passing. Corpus Christi were holding sway in the keyway and on the rebounds, however they were being moved around on defense by the great ball movement and rhythmic scoring power of the Kingsway players. Kingsway pulling away in the 3rd quarter to a defining lead. Guard Banjo Fitch (Kingsway) was the MVP of the grand final for a great all round display.
