ACC Championship Netball Grand Final Result: Ursula Frayne 51 def Corpus Christi 44
The 2021 ACC Netball Championship grand final was held on court 1, Tuesday 17 August at the Gold Netball Centre.
The Grand Final was destined to be a showpiece event on the ACC calendar with the two-time defending champions Ursula Frayne set to battle it out with Corpus Christi College. Both teams had many highly talented young players that are currently in both WANL and state development squads.
The Ursula Frayne attacking shooters were on fire early and working very well in tandem throughout the front court. Corpus Christi started to even the contest through the mid court and the battle was evenly split during the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Late in the 3rd quarter, the Ursula Frayne defense provided some strong rebounds and timely interceptions from the back court. This was the pivotal moment in the match as Ursula Frayne were able to maintain a steady lead and keep Corpus Christi at arms length. Ursula Frayne centre Charisse Rond was everywhere from defence to attack and played a very strong four quarter game which resulted in an MVP award.
Ultimately, the victory to Ursula Frayne earning them the treble – triple champions from 2019, 2020 and 2021. A super performance from the girls!!!
