Basketball

Congratulations to all teams that were involved in the 2023 Year 7 Super Series - BWA Challenge. The Basketball WA Challenge was played across two venues - Warwick Stadium (boys), and Bendat Stadium (girls). 

The standard of basketball from the Year 7 students was exceptional and all teams are to be highly commended on the team spirit and effort throughout the carnival day.

BWA Challenge Girls

Bendat Stadium had some excellent girls’ games with Kennedy Baptist undefeated in Pool A.  There were strong team performances from Mundaring Christian, finishing second with a very close percentage and a head to head loss to Kennedy by only 6 points.

Pool B results were very close between Mercedes and JSR.  Mercedes won the head to head by only 1 point to gain the top placing.  Mercedes went on to win the grand final game against Kennedy by only four points 21 - 17.

BWA Challenge Boys

There were four pools in the boys BWA Challenge held at Warwick Stadium with some very close games to finalise the top placings.  The winners of each pool were:

Pool A – Mater Dei College

Pool B - Sacred Heart College

Pool C – Kingsway Christian College

Pool D – All Saints’ College

Mater Dei College was the overall winner on the day with an outstanding game against Kingsway Christian College.  Mater Dei defeated Kingsway 26 - 18.
