Congratulations to all the ACC teams participating in the 2023 ACC Year 7 Super Series - Sam Kerr and Stan Lazaridis Football Shields.

The Year 7 Super Series held soccer carnivals across multiple metro venues.  The girls’ competition involved two pools held at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex.  There were four boys’ pools held across four venues: Irene McCormack CC, Mercy College, Curtin University and Murdoch University.

Sam Kerr Shield (Girls)

10 schools competed for the Sam Kerr Shield in 2023.

The carnival had some outstanding goals scored with some games requiring post-game penalties to determine the winner.

Both South Coast Baptist College and Seton Catholic College were undefeated in their pools.  Seton took the Shield, defeating South Coast 4 – 1.

All girls’ teams played the carnival in the right spirit and enjoyed a great experience making new friends and memories with their Year 7 peers.

Stan Lazaridis Shield (Boys)

There were some thrilling games played in the preliminary rounds involving 19 schools across the four venues.  The top placing schools went on to play in a grand final tournament held at UWA Sport Park on Friday 27 October.  The four winning teams were:

Pool A – Swan Valley ACS

Pool B – St Andrew’s Grammar

Pool C – South Coast Baptist College

Pool D – Corpus Christi College

The grand final tournament showcased some very close games; however, St Andrew’s and South Coast were the dominant schools on the day. St Andrew's took the early lead in their clash with South Coast and held on to deep into the second half when South Coast scored the equaliser. Match went into penalties and on the sixth penalty South Coast claimed the victory. The final ladder placings had both schools at the top on equal points with their head-to-head game a draw.  The winner was then determined by percentage which favoured South Coast Baptist and they were awarded the Shield for 2023.
