The 2022 ACC Boys Hockey Challenge produced some excellent games. All games were played in a wonderful competitive spirit with some outstanding, high quality performances.

Division 2 Boys

Participating schools in the Div 2 boys competition were Mazenod, Ellenbrook, Mandurah CC, Ursula Frayne, St Stephen’s Duncraig and Corpus Christi.

Grand Final

The grand final was a game of quality ball movement and strong teamwork. Corpus Christi defended very well in the initial parts of the first half and then had opportunities on the counterattack prior to half time. Mazenod continued to attack strongly and locked the ball into the front half resulting in a 1 goal lead at half time. The Mazenod midfield and attack started to build some excellent possession during the second half resulting in some outstanding team goals to earn the final result of 3-0. Mazenod demonstrated a powerful full game performance.

Division 1 Boys

Participating Schools in the Div 1 boys competition were Newman, CBC Fremantle, John XXIII, Bunbury Grammar and St Mark’s.

Grand Final

The grand final was an entertaining game with fast ball movement and high skill. Both teams having multiple opportunities to score during regulation time and both teams earning short corners that consistently put the opposition defence under pressure. The game was locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time which was fitting for the fantastic battle between the two teams. Bunbury Grammar held their nerve to score a fantastic goal in the 10 minutes extra time to seal the 2-1 victory!

Div 1: Bunbury Grammar def John XXIII 2-1 (Extra Time).
