The swimming carnival was held at the Claremont Aquatic Centre on Friday 28th April, and while we were concerned about holding the event in Term 2, the weather was absolutely perfect.
The event provided the opportunity for 194 students from 10 schools to either compete or participate in team or individual events, in both the 25m and 50m pools. The facilities provided a number of areas for both staff and students to utilise including grassed areas, the dive pool and the sensory water playground.
The event was hosted by Mercedes College & St Mark's Anglican Community School, providing both staff and senior students to fulfill the numerous official roles. These included chief starter, chief marshall, announcer, novelty assistants and water safety swimmers.
Congratulations to Corpus Christ College, who were awarded the Sue Bigelow Shield Shield, for embodying the maxim of 'Sport in the Right Spirit'.
